Hat lover
…so we can get right to it:
Owlsparks. New blog.
Blogger: Carlos Miceli. Argentinian. Questioner of things.
I’d like to consider my style as a Godin-Casnocha mix. Don’t worry, you don’t need to consider that as well.
Philosophy, marketing, social media, personal branding, love, friendship, questions, discussions and all that stuff.
Mostly, lots of naive advice about realistic happiness. Intrigued? There’s an RSS button right over there ===>
Lots of projects totally unrelated to blogging to come. Stay tuned!
Thanks for your time. We all know it’s brief!
PS: This blog is a dream come true for someone with english as his second language. Bare with me.

Carlos – welcome to the world of blogging (at least of the English-speaking variety). It’s been a long time coming man, but let me be (one of) the first to welcome you and wish you many good things and success moving forward. I look forward to reading what you have in store – I know you have been doing a lot of research on a variety of topics leading up to this, and I know you’ll bring to light new ideas and innovative thinking. Congrats on getting everything together. I’m on board – just subscribed, and look forward to the future of OwlSparks. Cheers!
Matt, I’m speechless. Thanks you so much for your words and all the support!
I’m so happy to have you here, as a part of this, and hopefully I’ll be able to live up to the expectations!
Carlos!! Congratulations – I am so excited for you. You’ve been such a positive addition to the blog and twitter-sphere – I can’t wait to read your stuff. And the fact that English is your second language? Muy impressivo! Or however you say that in Spanish
Jenny, I can’t thank you enough. Since our first talk, you’ve been nothing but supportive. Thanks, for real.
Oh, and don’t listen to that guy from “Friends”:
Impressive=Impresionante.
Carlos, welcome!!! Congrats on a new blog. What a wonderful thing. I have subscribed and eagerly awaiting the greatness that I know is coming!
Kristina, thanks a lot for your words, that’s a lot of love! I know that your frequent feedback will be nothing but awesomeness to Owlsparks!
Carlos, welcome to the english-speaking blogosphere! Can’t wait to read your posts and am really excited to see what you come up with. By the way, the website design is beautiful and I am loving the layout already. Great job putting everything together! Congratulations and I am sure this will be a fulfilling project.
Well, we all know who to thank for this design right??
Yeah Jamie, I’m winking at you.
Thanks for everything Akhila, your thoughts and opinions are VERY valuable to me. I really respect you. Hope to have you here destroying my ideas as often as possible!
Carlos: Welcome and congratulations! The site looks amazing and I’m so excited to read what you have to say. In conversations via Twitter and around the blogosphere you’ve displayed maturity and wisdom as you present yourself and your opinions, and your insights are always valued and highly regarded. I love that we can see more of that — my only regret in not having learned Spanish was that I wouldn’t have been able to read your other blog. But look! Now I can! And you can bet I’ll be an avid reader.
So excited for you and can’t wait to see what’s to come!
Susan, I really don’t know what to say! You too have been really nice with me since we’ve met, and supported me always. Thanks for your words and anytime you wanna learn spanish, you know where to look!
This IS exciting, huh?
A couple ‘Wordpress Words of Wisdom’:
One – categorize your posts – everything is showing as ‘un-categorized’ right now. In the long run, this will help with site navigation and with SEO.
Two – Get yourself a wordpress.com account – that way you’ll show up as a picture and not a green pattern-thing when you leave comments. This is great to have for not only your own blog, but when you post on other Wordpress-run blogs as well.
That’s all I’ve got for now. I love the design and love the short, but loaded-word posting style. Very Godin-ish and unique. You are taking the ‘less is more’ concept to a whole new level!
Great advice Matt! I did both things, and yeah, this is definitely an upgrade. I will check your post about how to pimp your blog later, there’s definitely some cool advice there!
I’m glad you see at least a tiny bit of Godin’s style here
I’m not so off, right?
Carlos, I’m a bit late to the game here but I’m so happy OwlSparks is up and running. Congratulations. Jamie, awesome design
I’m so looking forward to your posts, this has been a long time coming and I think there’s lots of success and conversation ahead. Cheers!
Grace, you’re obviously one of the persons that encouraged me to make this possible. I’m very thankful to you and your support. Hopefully I’ll see you around so we can engage in some great conversations! Thanks for everything!
Carlos,
I am excited about your new blog because you have been so helpful on Twitter. I feel like I have made a connection with you through that service, as well as with several of the others leaving comments on this post.
After reading your first few posts to this website, I would agree that your style is close to the style that Godin uses. I am impressed with how you have made it work, it is a very difficult thing to pull off. It seems like you are making a point with about 20% of the words that I would need to use.
The design is awesome for the new site too! One thing that I haven’t seemed to be able to find is the story behind the name of the blog. Where did it come from? I like it and I am curious as to the story behind it.
Congratulations on starting the new blog! I am looking forward to seeing you fill it with valuable content.
Benjamin, your words have moved me. I can’t be thankful enough, you’ve been very engaging as well, and a great person to follow.
To be honest, I think that since I’m not as proficcient with the english language as you all are, my limits forced me to learn to say things in a blunt way in order to have an impact. There’s always a bright side, right?
As for the story behind Owlsparks, I’ll just say that it involved A LOT of brainstorming with Jamie Varon (she was very nice). It’s about short “sparks” of “naive wisdom” (that’s where the childish owl comes from, and what that animal represents).
Thanks a lot for your support man, you’ve been amazing!
